Tri-Sett Lady Leah Seven Oaks
Winners Bitch - Duluth Kennel Club 2005

These black and tan wonder dogs are also raised at Hobby Horse Farm. Gordon Setters are noted for their bold, out-going temperament, and they adapt to a variety of different training situations. Highly valued as a family companion, the Gordon is also becoming increasingly popular in the show ring.

The goal of our breeding program at Hobby Horse Farm is to raise Gordon Setters that excel the breed standard for show as well as for hunting. “Miles” is an example of one of these pups. At the age of 14 weeks, he won his class and proceeded to place reserve in Best of Breed. Then at 10 months of age, “Miles” assisted his mistress in acquiring nine pheasants while hunting in South Dakota. Next litter info here.

The Gordon Setter is a gundog which originated in Scotland with the Duke of Gordon in the 1700’s. This black and tan setter is intelligent, able and dignified, good sized, sturdily built, well muscled with plenty of bone and substance but active and stylish and appearing capable of doing a full days work in the field.

Of the three setters, the Gordon has consistently been bred to one standard, bench show winners being equally capable in the field.

The pups from Hobby Horse Farm carry the lines of many duo champions, bench as well as field. When looking for a dog that can do it all as well as being a family member, come check out the Gordons at Hobby Horse Farm.
